A Pleasant Surprise at Gongoozler – Definitely Worth a Visit! After a lovely narrowboat trip at the Dudley Canal Trust, we found ourselves quite hungry and decided to stop at the Gongoozler restaurant. To be honest, we didn’t expect much – experience has taught us that food in tourist spots is often just average at best. But here, we were genuinely impressed. We ordered something simple – jacket potatoes with beans and cheese – and expected a quick microwave-style meal. What we received instead was a generous, freshly baked potato, perfectly done, with a fresh side salad. It was delicious, comforting, and very reasonably priced. The service was just as good – friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff who clearly care about the customer experience. A great little find. We’ll definitely be back – next time, maybe even hungrier!

Large cafè with plenty of seating Indoor and out overlooking the canal. They have two unisex toilets by the cafè unfortunately I opened one door to see a man using the toilet who had not locked the door. There were young children waiting and I found this worrying. Obviously the staff had no control over this.

First visit to gongoozler and we were so well welcomed. The cafe is easily accessible with lots of space between tables. We shared afternoon tea for two and the scone with cream and jam was the highlight so buttery and delicious. The hot drinks included were refillable and the staff were spot on checking in with us throughout our time there. It was raining at the time but to sit outside and see the canal would be lovely next time.

Visited for breakfast after another place (A very well known franchise may I add) had let us down with the shocking lack of gluten free options. Google recommended this place and I'm so glad it did because breakfast was delicious. Bacon was perfect, sausages were gorgeous and the eggs had the perfect ratio of set and runny yolk. My friend who had the gluten free options was able to have basically the same meal as me with a few gluten free swaps. Noticed they do a afternoon tea with cakes and we're told by staff that gluten free was no issue so we're very excited to come back at some point for that! The staff were really friendly, the cafe was very clean and looked after. They cater for children too and the prices were very reasonable.

Attended a private function at the Gongoozler and had a fabulous time. Really friendly and hard working staff. The buffet put on was great and the drinks service was good. Nice selection of local ales available. Really lovely location on the canal edge overlooking the BCLM. Wheelchair accessible as a 96 year old relative had no trouble accessing the venue in her wheelchair. Plenty of parking with an honesty box for donations.

This is a smashing little cafe attached to the Dudley canal and tunnel trust, very fresh food and tasty too, we only had bacon and egg on a bun but it was delicious. There's a few areas to sit around and plenty of space for all. The staff are great, chatty and friendly. The place is really clean and tidy, you can tell they care about the place.

Basic canteen fare but the staff were all nice and it was clean and tidy. I think we mistimed our visit and there was a slow moving queue, had we been 30 minutes later it was fine.
